In the modern world, it is common to hear there is full of competition among people, and for certain, there is no exception in children’s world. However, to consider on the other side, it is also essential to teach children how to cooperate with each other.
Generally speaking, competition can inspire ones sense of honour and the motivation of challenge. One would be more willing to overcome some difficulties if he/she wants to defeat somebody else. It is a born human drive and well used by the behaviourists to condition people. As a consequence, current competitive atmosphere among people, especially in capitalistic society, came to be the mainstream.(I prefer to put this paragraph at first. And if you can combine first and second paragraph become three sentences that will be better because they are general speaking.)
It is general accepted that (Although) competition brings people motivation to fight, the society is structured by every individual in the world, and in more macro-view, on the earth. Everyone acts as a unique role in the environment and has his/her function to make the world better. For example, teachers are supposed to develop young generation with better academic ability, and shop owners are responsible to provide daily products people need, even part-time workers have their job responsibilities with flexible work time. In other words, we have to learn to cooperate with each other and then we are able to lead our society better and to make ourselves happy in the end.

In my personal opinion, to be cooperative should be taught before the concept of competition. Only with a well integrated society structure, we can compete to be better and better in our performance. Therefore, the introduction of cooperation is supposed to be prior to competition.
